A 20-year-old Salisbury man has been sentenced to eight months in prison after leading police on a 47-mile pursuit, which reached speeds of 120mph. Ryan Moore, from Carmelite Way, Salisbury, failed to stop for Wiltshire Police after they spotted his Mercedes A Class on Avon Approach at about 11:05 PM GMT on December 9th. Moore's car was seen in a suspected drug deal, and he was found to have cloned plates and failed a drugs wipe for cannabis. This is the part most people miss: Moore's actions put the lives of other road users at serious risk. He was disqualified from driving for three years and four months and pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, not having insurance, failing to provide an evidential sample, and using fraudulent registration plates. This is the part that could spark differing opinions: PC Pedliham, of the Salisbury Community Policing Team, said Moore's prison term reflected the 'seriousness' of his behavior. But here's where it gets controversial... Some may argue that Moore's actions were a desperate attempt to evade police, while others may view them as reckless and dangerous. What do you think?
