Eligibility:
To be considered, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Applicants should not exceed 25 years for undergraduate and diploma programs, and 35 years for postgraduate master's programs on the first day of July of the year the course starts.
- English Proficiency: A solid command of English is essential. This can be demonstrated through a Credit 6 in GCE 'O' Level, a Grade 'C' in IGCSE English (as a second language), a TOEFL score of 550, or an IELTS score of 6.0.
Please note, this scholarship is primarily for international students studying in Brunei Darussalam for the first time. Brunei Darussalam Permanent Residents are not eligible.
Benefits:
The scholarship recipient will enjoy a range of benefits, including:
- Tuition Fee Exemption: No fees for tuition, acceptance, examination, registration, or orientation for the duration of the program.
- Travel Support: Economy class air tickets to and from Brunei Darussalam, from the recipient's country of origin or domicile.
- Monthly Allowances: BND$500 for personal expenses and BND$150 for meals.
- Annual Book Allowance: BND$600 to support academic needs.
- Accommodation: Residence at the university or polytechnic's residential college.
- Baggage Allowance: Up to BND$250 for shipment of personal effects to the recipient's country of origin or domicile (BND$500 for countries outside the ASEAN region).
- Comprehensive Insurance: Coverage for the entire scholarship duration, with the option to obtain additional insurance at the recipient's expense.
Responsibilities:
As a recipient of this prestigious scholarship, you will be expected to:
- Abide by all rules and regulations of the scholarship and your institution.
- Respect the customs, culture, and official religion of Brunei Darussalam.
- Obey all laws and regulations of the country.
- Refrain from political activities.
- Undergo health screening in Brunei Darussalam if required by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
